Viscose speciality fiber manufacturer Kelheim presents a mixture of new and well-established products subject to ongoing development in Geneva. Flushability - or toilet-readiness - remains one of the most important topics for wet wipes. According to the company, their flat short cut fiber, Viloft, offers the first viscose fiber for the proven rapid disintegration of wet wipes. Nevertheless, the Bavaria-based company does not rely solely on the performance of the fiber and their experience of more than ten years in this area - quite the opposite in fact. Last year, comprehensive tests were carried out in cooperation with the local wastewater authorities and renowned pump manufacturer WILO (as reported in avr 1-17, pp. 16-19).
