摘要

Patients who present with tumors of the endocrine glands often fall under the care of the general surgeon. Although thyroid disorders are probably the most frequently encountered endocrine problems, the care of patients with nonthyroid endocrine tumors makes up a small but defined portion of the practice of most general surgeons in the US. In fact, it has recently been estimated that the majority of common endocrine operations are performed by a surgeon whose practice is less than 25% endocrine.
