Reshoring and FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in 2014 and 2015 brought as many manufacturing jobs to the U.S. as we lost to offshoring. Our $500 billion/year trade deficit represents an opportunity to bring another four million jobs back, increasing U.S. manufacturing by about 25 percent. U.S. manufacture and consumption of fasteners will increase proportionately. Offshore costs and recognition of the benefits of reshoring are both rising, making such transitions increasingly feasible.
