EVRAZ Consolidated West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ ZSMK) will decrease PCI coal consump- tion in January despite a substantial rise in pig iron output. The mill will use some 18,000 t of the material, down 12% month-on-month, Metal Expert estimates. The change is due to a drop in the pulverized coal injection rate from 55 kg per one tonne of pig iron in December to 36 kg per tonne in January. Pig iron production is expected to go up from 376,000 t to 511,000 t owing to BF No.3 reaching its designed capacity after repairs.
