摘要

This study investigated the relationship between imitation and social impairment in children with autism over a 2yr period Th8 subject was a girl with autism. Its analysis was carried out in mother-infant play situation, to identify when her imitation appears and what developmental processes her imitation follows. In early stages of attachment, her imitations were followed by the demands of her mother. When infant became aware of mental contents, e.g. emotion and intention, of her mother the Imitations became more active and voluntary. Once a complementary mother-infant relationship was attained, imitations appeared in mother-infant communication situation and also her imitation it-self turned play. Therefore, it was suggested that both quality and quantity of her imitations have reflected the mother-infant relationship. Imitation learning was discussed as a method of intervention to social impairment of children with autism
